Apple Inc co-founder and once CEO Steve Jobs passed away on Wednesday October 5th, 2011 after his long and public battle with cancer and other health issues. He was 56.
Jobs’ death was announced by Apple in a statement late on Wednesday.
In 1976, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, Ronald Wayne and A.C. “Mike” Markkula Jr. founded Apple. He left the company in 1985. he returned in 1996 which led to Apple returning to profitable margins with the release of iPod and iPhone.
In August 2011 Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple which led to Apple Inc. (AAPL) shares dropped 5% and a 1.5% drop in shares of The Walt Disney Company where Jobs serves as director.
