Larry Gent (or Xanthor in the web world) is an author, a freelance writer, a long time geek and a lifetime nerd who exists in the savage north known as Canada.

Larry was born in Ottawa, Ontario and grew up in Perth, Ontario.  For the last 15 years he has been living in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He lives with his wife Valérie and is owned by an evil feline entity known as Zid.

His first published story was You have the Touch in the Light|Dark collection from Engen Books.  His first solo novel, Never Been to Mars, won a BEST IN HALIFAX award in 2014 from The Coast.  His follow-up, To Money and a TV, was released in 2015.

Larry has also been an online contributor for various online publication and organizations like the GvN Online magazine, Kasterborous and Hal-Con Science-Fiction, Fantasy Association.

When he’s not writing Larry, or his stage persona The Man in the Hat, is an stage-performer for Geeks versus Nerds, a comedy-debate show.
