This year at E3 2013 they announced a new Sonic the hedgehog game (one that seems to have similar elements to Mario Galaxy).  Sonic Lost World for Wii U and 3DS.  Below is a trailer.  I watched the trailer and am very interested in the game but all that being said and done the words at the end of the trailer made me laugh.  We’ve come a long way since 1991.

I remember the good old days of Sega versus Nintendo.  The days of seeing Sonic and Mario face-to-face or on the same screen were only pipe dreams (or grassland dreams – take your pick).  Now they go to the Olympics together and they fight, side by side, against Snake, Mega Man, Link and Pikachu.  My how times have have changed.  I know its not new  but for a gamer like me, one who started in the 80s playing Super Mario Bros., saw the new challenger approach and watched the ferocious battle between Nintendo and Sega grow its words like SONIC and EXCLUSIVELY ON NINTENDO CONSOLES that blow my mind.
