“I live, I love, I slay, I am content.”

These are going to be the monumental lines for this movies. They are uttered by Jason Momoa, best known as Ronan Dex in Stargate Atlantis and as Khal Drogo in the upcoming Game of Thrones, who is taking on the role of Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian.

The remake, which thankfully will have nothing to do with Arnie, is set to be released Augest 19th 2011.  The film will also star GI JOE stars Rachel Nichols and Said Taghaoui, Rose McGowan (Charmed, Scream), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Bob Sapp (Elektra) and Ron Perlman (Everything – also Hellboy)

The movie is said to follow the old classic story line.   After his father is murdered and village destroyed, Conan ventures into an unforgiving world where he survives as a thief, pirate, and warrior. On his path of wanton adventure and women, Conan chances upon the warlord responsible for his tribe’s destruction. As he tracks Khalar Zym, Conan battles monsters, Zym’s henchmen, and Marique, a powerful witch.
