42 Screens: New Angels found for Charlies Angel Reboot

Good morning Angels!

Charley chooses his angels very carefully, he needs the best, he needs the brightest, and he needs the prettiest.  You can’t just go on Craigslist and put up an add.

After a long search ABC has declared they have their Angels for the TV reboot of Charlie’s Angels (being overseen by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar).  The luck, beautiful and talented women are Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh

Minka Kelly, from Friday Night Lights and the upcoming The Roomate, was suppose to play Marisa, a neat freak and former U.S. Marine trained in all forms of weaponry and hand-to-head combat but is having her role reworked to better suit the actress.

Rachael Taylor, from Transformers and Shutter, plays Abby, the youngest and sassiest of the group, and the “privileged daughter of a notorious Wall Street crook”. She’s an expert con artist, as well as an expert in the defensive combat system Krav Maga.

Annie Ilonzeh, from General Hospital, plays Kate, the most serious of the trio. She’s a highly intelligent and athletic ex-cop and martial arts master who nonetheless knows “how to let her hair down and have a great time”.

Robert Wagner, who played Number Two in the Austin Powers films, has been cast as the titular Charlie.

No word yet on who will be playing Bosley.

This is all on par with what one would probably expect from another incarnation of Charlie’s Angels that has Leonard Goldberg (one of the producers of the original show) and Drew Barrymore as executive producers. They’re joined by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who in addition to developing the show, also penned the script for the pilot.
