In a MTV interview Mark Wahlberg has confirmed that he expects to star in the Uncharted film. According to Mark, director David O. Russell, who Mark he had previously worked with on Three Kings and The Fighter, plans to start shooting next summer.  Russell wants to cast Joe Pesci as his uncle and Robert De Niro as his father. Wahlberg says the movie is not going to be a “watered-down version, that’s for sure.”

Sadly this mean Nathan Fillion, once sought for the role, is out.  And odd choice as both actor, turning 40 next year, are way to old to play the twenty-something treasure hunter.
